AITI Organized Visits to Personal e-Motions Pte Ltd, Media Development Authority (MDA)

​Participating companies of the Brunei Pavilion in CommunicAsia 2011, visited a few organisations and authorities in Singapore on 22nd June, 2011 organised by AITI. This is in line with AITI’s vision of continuous encouragement in business networking with global partners and to gain more experience from established organizations. Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Minister of Communications rendered his supporting role in leading the visit.
The first visit took place at Personal e-Motion Pte Ltd which is a startup company based in Singapore. The company produces a user friendly and innovative interactive eBook application called KooBits that focuses on educational needs of students and kids below 11 year old. KooBits is able to incorporate a myriad of multi-media and rich content such as pictures, music, eBooks, You Tube and animations. The talk was presented by Stanley Han, CEO, Co-Founder of Personal e-Motion Pte Ltd. The CEO explained their business model and further expansion plan and marketing strategy in the global market..
The second visit took place at Media Development Authority (MDA) whereby the Brunei delegation was briefed on MDA’s Singapore Media Fusion Masterplan to transform Singapore into a media and broadcasting hub for Asia Pacific. MDA also showcased an array of successful media projects by companies in Singapore with international collaborations, such as The Jim Henson Company. MDA also highlighted their role in regulating the media and content industry in Singapore.

In the afternoon, the Brunei delegation visited iExperience Center provided by Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). Areas of interest visited were the Next Gen Classroom and Next Gen Office which showed glimpse of new dimensions to teaching and learning, and how future offices are transformed through next generation ICT technologies and high speed bandwidth through fibre network. Other technologies like high definition video conferencing and tele-medicine were also shown to the Brunei delegation.
These visits provided an insight to the Brunei companies on possible opportunities in the area of ICT and Next Gen Network such as fibre network. These visits will further help our Brunei companies in their knowledge acquisition and hence help to enhance their products and services using these new ICT technologies.
