AITI Signed Contract To Accelerate It's Online Services Delivery
Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam held its contract signing ceremony for “Implementation of AITI Enterprise Portals, Business Automation and Human Resource Management Systems”. This contract is Phase-II implementation of AITI’s journey in transforming its paper based application and processes to online services (eServices) and also a continuity of Business Process Improvement (BPI) project done recently as Phase-I. 
The signing ceremony took place in the presense Hj. Yahkup Bin Hj. Menudin, Member of Authority as well as Chief Executive of AITI. Signing on behalf of the AITI were Assistance Chief Executive, Corporate Services Group; Hj. Osman Bin Hj. Ladis and Mr. Wong Ik Ming, Managing Director, eSuria Mentari Systems Sdn Bhd. The signing ceremony was witnessed by witness by Awg Edwin Lim Charng Yih, Assistant Chief Executive of Corporate Strategy and Stakeholder Relation Group and Mr. Nurin Almas Abdul Kadir of eSuria Mentari Systems.
The ceremony which took place at the Dewan Seri Kerna, AITI building in Kg. Anggerek Desa, Jalan Berakas, began with Al-Fatihah followed by signing of contract by both parties. This was then followed by presentation on project overview by Nurin Almas Abdul Kadir.
The aim of this project is to create an agile enterprise that can meet future business needs, improve individual productivity as well as organizational performance and to provide better and effective services to the customers efficiently. With the implementation of this project, an array of Services and Applications will be made available online within AITI. It covers wide variety of enterprise requirements; such as Internet and Intranet Portal Services, Document Management Systems, Human Resource Management Systems with employee self-services, selected online business forms and applications with workflow automation, creating collaboration spaces and business productivity. The contract inked yesterday plays a significant role as to ensure proper foundation is laid to accelerate the rest of enterprise and public facing online business forms and applications through the remaining project phases.
The business activities that AITI provides to its client includes issuing of relevant licenses to telecommunication service operators and equipment dealers, type approving of radio equipments, issuing of import permits, and etc.
AITI is serving as regulator for Info-communication Technology industry for services that range from individual consumer, communication equipment dealers, and public sector to fixed and mobile telecommunications service providers. AITI also spearheads the development and promotion of Brunei ICT industry as a whole and represents Brunei ICT industry in International fora.
