The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) hosted a one-day workshop on “Ideas to Screen” at the Seri Kerna Hall, AITI. The workshop was attended by more than 50 participants from local production houses, students, writers and producers from the creative and digital media industry. The workshop aims to help participants understand how to build their ideas into a script and finally to the screen. The workshop allowed participants to learn the art of creating ideas and visual storytelling.
In his opening remarks, Yang Mulia Haji Yahkup bin Haji Menudin, Chief Executive of AITI  shared with the participants the importance of getting the right skills and knowledge to expand and develop their ideas into visuals for translation onto the screen. He further elaborated, that with the increase in media platforms with the help of technology, creative content that meet international standards will be in greater demand and create more opportunities for Bruneians to enter the global market.
The workshop was conducted by Hassan Muthalib, the renowned Father of Malaysian Animation who animated the popular Sang Kancil series in the 1980's. Having written and directed Malaysia’s first animation feature film, Silat Legenda, Hassan shared insights on techniques of screenwriting and visual storytelling based on his over 50 years of experience.
The “Ideas to Screen” workshop is one of a series of workshops run by AITI to nurture the growth of the local broadcasting and digital media industry.
