Attractive prizes give-away; Highlight of AITI carvival

26 May 2013 – A prize presentation ceremony took place at the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) premises as part of the AITI 10th Year Anniversary Carnival.
 
The ceremony witnessed the giving of prizes to the winners of four competitions organised by AITI: AITI Instagram photo competition, AITI Quiz competition, Gaming Console competitions for FIFA and Street Fighter, and the Girls in ICT Day “Clip-IT” video-making competition.
 
The Instagram competition was held between 6 May and 20 May 2013, which AITI partnered with Brunika, one of the nation’s well known Instagram community. The theme was “Celebrating 10 years of AITI”. Responses have been great and a total of 364 submissions have been received. The panel of judges consisted of representatives from AITI, TelBru, DST and B-Mobile. The Chief Executive of AITI, Awang Haji Yahkup bin Haji Menudin awarded the prizes to the winners of the competition as follows:

Meanwhile, the AITI Quiz competition was held throughout the carnival day where 5 sets of questions were prepared. Those who managed to answer all questions correctly are compiled and then randomly picked to be the winner.  Awang Queh Ser Pheng, Deputy Chief Executive (Regulatory, Industry and International), presented the prizes to the winners of the AITI Quiz. The winner of the quiz received a Samsung Galaxy Camera, Sony Xperia and an Apple iPod Nano respectively for 1st Prize, @nd Prize and 3rd Prize.
 
For the gaming enthusiasts, two game console competitions for FIFA and Street Fighter were organised. The competition took place on the carnival itself and lasted until 4.00pm.  Awang Haji Osman bin Haji Ladis, Deputy Chief Executive (Corporate Services) was present to give the prizes to the winners of both games. For the FIFA competition, the winners were:

Finally, the “Clip-IT” competition was organised in conjunction to the Girls in ICT Day celebration on 25 April 2013. It is a one-minute video clip challenge aimed to promote the use of ICT medium and encourage participations from girls aged 13 to 19 years. The short video clip theme was “IT’s a Girls’ World”. Entries to Clip-IT were opened from 25 April to 17 May 2013, and members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite clips starting from 18 to 22 May 2013 through AITI’s website. The prize presentation was given by Julianah binti Ahmad, Assistant Chief Executive (ICT Industry Development), and the winners of “Clip-IT” were:
