The main objective of this project is to carry out a detailed market study on Brunei Darussalam’s Broadcasting and Television sector. Through this project, AITI wishes to develop a five-year strategic plan for Brunei Darussalam to further promote economic growth and identify development programs in Brunei Darussalam’s Broadcasting and Television sector in line with Brunei Darussalam’s National Vision 2035.

This project is estimated to commence from end March 2014 and will be conducted in three phases. During the first phase, a market study involving stakeholders and consumer surveys will be carried out to review and analyse existing regulatory frameworks and the status of the broadcasting sector. This phase will also highlight the gaps between Brunei Darussalam and international best practice. The second phase involves doing a gap analysis to identify initiatives to be carried out for market development. Strategic development programs concerning the detailed supply side and demand side can then be recommended. The final phase will cover the post project support to ensure smooth and effective implementation of frameworks in which public consultations to stakeholders will be held.

Upon completion of the project, AITI will be able to take a step forward in making the broadcasting and television market in Brunei Darussalam more competitive, organized, dynamic and vibrant, more controlled, has its own identity, encourages growth of the industry and increases its contribution towards the economic growth.
