The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) continued the series of seminars on Cyber Security and Internet Etiquette Awareness Program for the students and today the venue was Rimba Secondary School.  This activity is a significant collaboration effort between AITI with the Department of Schools under the Ministry of Education and Tech One Global Ltd.

Some 150 students from Year 8 Rimba Secondary School turned up for the seminar which was held at the school’s library.  They were very keen and interested to know about how to be safer when surfing the Internet and doing activities online such as accessing social networking websites and purchasing items online.  The seminar was conducted by Mr Nasrullah Rahmat and Mr Panduka Wanigarathne from Tech One Global Ltd.  The seminar covered topics including “Introduction to Cyber Crime and Security”; “Connecting to the Internet Safely”; “Security Threats and Attacks”; “Social Networks”; “Safe Browsing & Instant Messaging” as well as “Protecting your Environment”.

AITI would like to create awareness on the importance of practising safety, security and good ethics when surfing the Internet and doing activities online such as social networking, information retrieval, commerce, and connecting with family and friends.
