12th February 2014 – The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) today signed an agreement with Infomars Training and Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd who has been awarded as the training provider to conduct the ICT training courses included under the Basic ICT Literacy and Professional Training Program Phase 2 for Youth Development Program (YDP) participants. The Basic ICT Literacy and Professional Training Program is funded under the Human Resource Development Fund for the 10th National Development Plan.

The event took place at Seri Kerna Hall of AITI Building in Kg Anggerek Desa. Signing on behalf of AITI was the Deputy Chief Executive, Haji Osman Bin Haji Ladis, while Infomars Training and Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd was represented by its Director, Haji Zaini bin Haji Awang Omar. Haji Yahkup Bin Haji Menudin, Chief Executive of AITI, was the Guest of Honour who witnessed the signing ceremony.


Under this program, Infomars Training and Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd will be conducting the ICT training courses for 158 Youth Development Program (YDP) participants with full subsidy.


AITI is collaborating with E–Government National Centre (EGNC) as the main organizer of the ICT Youth Development Program (ICT YDP) and the program was also supported by Department of Economic Planning and Development (JPKE).

ICT YDP is created as an alternative education channel for any enthusiastic youths towards ICT development and opportunities specifically for school leavers. The objective of ICT YDP is to develop knowledge and skills for the participants to become competent so that they are more marketable for employment, technopreneurship or further studies.

The participants of this program will undergo three (3) months of hands-on training, which will be conducted by professional instructors. They can obtain internationally recognized certificates upon completion of the training.

The training will start today with Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) followed by IC-Citizen before they are grouped into three specialist clusters: Multimedia, IT Pro and Web Development depending on their results and performance.


Multimedia Cluster offers Adobe Certified Associate courses in Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Premiere pro as well as Autodesk Certified User in AutoCAD.

IT Pro Cluster offers CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals as well as Microsoft Technology Associate in Windows OS Fundamentals, Networking Fundamentals, Security Fundamentals and Windows Server Administration Fundamentals.

Meanwhile, Web Development Cluster offers Microsoft Technology Associate in Web Development Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Specialist – Sharepoint End User, Microsoft Sharepoint Designer, Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop and Dreamweaver.


The participants will then go for an apprenticeship scheme for about three (3) months with local ICT companies to work and develop their skills further while gaining valuable working experience.

The training program is scheduled to end in May 2014.
