Extending the reach of Brunei's broadcasting and digital media industry
The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) is bringing a delegation of Brunei’s very own broadcasting and digital media industry players to at KL Converge! which is being held from 17-19 September 2014 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia with the support of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has invited Brunei Darussalam to send a delegation comprising of officials from  AITI and a selection of broadcasting and digital media industry players.  Present to bid the delegation farewell at the Brunei International Airport this morning was Awang Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, Acting Chief Executive of AITI and other senior officers.
KL Converge! will showcase how the multiple facets of technology, services and applications have converged into a digital world which is now a key driver in the lives of consumers, economic development and a nation’s growth.  ASEAN member states will host country pavilions with their own content buyers and businesses related to communications and multimedia, film, TV, music, networked applications, games and anything to do with the digital lifestyle.  There will also be interactive sessions and dialogues, master classes and workshops open for all delegates.  To further enhance the sensory experience there will be with live demos and displays of apps, games, shorties, films and TV shows.
AITI will host the Brunei Darussalam Pavilion to provide opportunities to attract potential partnerships and investors in our local industry. This is in line with AITI’s initiatives to develop Brunei’s broadcasting and digital media industry.
Showcase participants are Origin Films Sdn Bhd, Regal Blue Productions, Itsybytes Company, Ambuyart Animations and MegaBond Productions.  Along with the exhibitors, AITI has also invited supporting agencies within the industry to attend as trade visitors such as the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), Kristal Media Sdn Bhd, Progressif Cellular Sdn Bhd, Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) and Shazana’s Production House. The delegates will also have a chance to visit Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios on Friday 20th September 2014 organised by the Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS).
