Three (3) students
from the Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) and one (1) student from Politeknik
Brunei (PB) left for Singapore to undergo the six-month internship program at
various ICT companies in Singapore. These students are the recipients of the prestigious
INSPIRE program by AITI, which is an internship program that offers
the opportunities for students to apply and enhance their knowledge and
skills through meaningful work experience and interaction with professional
people in a real-life working environment. The INSPIRE Internship Program is
supported by the Department of Economic, Planning and Development (JPKE) and
funded under the 10th National Development Plan for Human
Capacity Development Program.
The three (3) ITB students namely Lim Tze Yee, Siti
Noora’zam Binti Haji Abdul Kadir and Farah Nabila Binti Dr Haji Muhd Hadi,undertaking Degree in ICT will be attached to
Cicada Cube Pte Ltd, Standices Pte Ltd and Techsailor Pte Ltd respectively whereas
the PB student, Md
Dzulhakim Ilham Bin Hj Md Yassin who currently undertaking Advanced Diploma in
Information Systems and Technology will be attached to Hello Technology Pte Ltd. Throughout the internship period, these students will
be involved in various ICT projects such as software engineering
development, big data analysis and social media applications development.
Present to bid them
farewell yesterday at the Brunei International Airport were Awang Adi Shamsul bin Hj Sabli, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime
Minister’s Office and AITI’s Authority Member, AITI’s senior management, senior officials from
Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB) as well as Politeknik Brunei (PB).
The students were awarded the INSPIRE Internship
Program in a signing and award ceremony on 24 June 2014. The ceremony included the signing of
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between AITI and Politeknik Brunei (PB) as
well as the signing of INSPIRE award agreement between AITI and six (6)
successful students. The other two (2) students from Universiti
Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will depart from Brunei Darussalam next month when they
start their internship program in Singapore on 4 August 2014.
AITI hopes that upon completion of the program, the
INSPIRE Award recipients will gain valuable working experience which will
better prepare them to join the local workforce when they eventually graduate
from their study
in the respective institutions.
