iROP Awareness Campaign in Temburong

The iROP Awareness Campaign was held in the Belalong Commmunity Centre, Temburong District. This is the first Pilot Project Awareness event held by AITI and IFB in collaboration with MOHA and supported by Temburong District Office.

iROP is an ICT Rural Outreach Program with the objective to build ICT literacy in the rural areas in response to the national call for human resource capacity development. The program itself will emphasize on the use of ICT to improve ICT literacy in rural areas and develop IT entrepreneurs into self sustainable businesses which serve the rural community. Thus, this will narrow the ICT digital divide that exist in the rural areas.
 
Dewan Belalong in Pekan Bangar, Temburong District has been nominated to be the centre for the pilot site to start off the iROP program. The site was nominated based on the recommendation of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA).

 

This Awareness Campaign is to encourage participation from the Temburong District community and to understand the components and benefits of iROP. It was elaborated in the presentation the iROP Program includes the physical set up of the iROP One Stop Communicty Centre, the Training Framework of iROP, the benefits to the individual participating in this program and the contribution to the community towards continuity and sustainability. The participants were also briefed on the expected commitment when joining this program.

 

Interested participants are to collect the registration form from the Bahagian Institusi Mukim dan Kampong, Pejabat Daerah Temburong or respective Mukim's Penghulu(s). Submit the completed forms to the Bahagian Institusi Mukim dan Kampong, Pejabat Daerah Temburong before Monday, 31 st January 2011, 4.00pm.
