Data Protection Officer Competency Programme

Introduction
The Data Protection Officer Competency programme is a three-day programme designed for current and prospective Data Protection Officers (DPO) to develop their knowledge and understanding in data protection policies and implementing practices in day-to-day operations within their organisation.
Participants will undergo training in the management of personal data and have the opportunity to become as a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
Eligibility
- Citizen or Permanent Resident of Brunei Darussalam;
- Currently employed by a private sector organisation with an office registered in Brunei Darussalam;
- Has a good command of the English Language;
- Graduated with a minimum Bachelor’s Degree;
- At least two (2) years of working experience would be an advantage.
- Ability to commit and attend the three-day programme physically and sit for the CIPM examination within four (4) months of the programme;
- Participants are expected to be nominated by their respective organisations, however individually-sponsored applicants will also be considered;
- Participants of data-driven companies are encouraged to apply

The total number of participants are limited and will be on a first-come-first-served basis with priority for one person per organisation.

Trainer Details
Mr Wong Kar Hong has 30 years of experience in Operations and Information Technology (IT), from Geographic Information System (GIS), Hotel Technology Management to IT Governance and Data Protection. He has a strong reputation as a trainer in data protection and privacy and currently delivers IAPP certification courses in Singapore. He has consistently achieved excellent rating from his course participants.
