AITI Opens Digital Arts Competition

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) officially opened the Digital Arts Competition on 25 April 2024 in conjunction with the International Girls in ICT Day 2024. The competition is open to female students (local and permanent citizens) from Year 7 to Year 11 in Brunei Darussalam and aims to showcase their talent in digital arts based on the International Girls in ICT Day 2024 theme this year – “Leadership”. 

 

The categories for submission are Category 1 (Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9) and Category 2 (Year 10 and Year 11). The topic for the competition is “Create an ideal female ICT leader” for which participants may show how the character addresses challenges as a leader in ICT, any future technological implementations in Brunei Darussalam or how the character encourages empowerment and leadership development in the future in the field of STEM. 

 

Submissions are accepted until 20 May 2024, and participants will stand a chance to win exciting cash prizes. Terms and conditions can be found at aiti.gov.bn/events/girls-in-ict-2024. 

 

The International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative backed by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of ICT. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April annually and this year, the International Girls in ICT Day is observed on 25 April 2024.
