Personal Data Protection

AITI is the Data Office which is currently developing a new Personal Data Protection law in Brunei Darussalam.

The upcoming legislation aims to govern the collection, use and disclosure of personal data by private organisations, in a way that recognises:

  • The obligations of private sector organisations in the collection, use and disclose of personal data; and
  • The right of individuals to protect their personal data.
