Setia Point, Berakas
4–5 June 2025 | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Upholding the theme “Building Trust and Enabling Innovation for a Sustainable Digital Future”, Digital Future Conference & Exhibition (DFCE) 2025, organised by AITI, returns as Brunei Darussalam’s flagship platform for charting the nation’s digital transformation.

Objectives

Share knowledge and expert insights

Showcase new discoveries and innovation

Increase networking and business activities

AI is rapidly reshaping the way we work from intelligent chatbots and predictive analytics to operational efficiencies across sectors like logistics and finance. As AI becomes more embedded in business operations, it introduces new risks related to data integrity, algorithmic bias, and transparency. DFCE 2025 will also highlight the intersection of AI and Online Safety, addressing public concerns over misinformation, cyberbullying, and digital well-being.

Meanwhile, Internet of Things (IoT) is changing how we live and work, with smart devices enabling automation and efficiency across sectors. To fully harness its potential, cybersecurity and interoperability must be prioritised. Scalable IoT solutions support environmental monitoring, smart infrastructure, and energy efficiency, essential for a sustainable digital economy.

In January 2025, Brunei Darussalam enacted the “Personal Data Protection Order (PDPO),” a landmark legislation that empowers individuals with greater control over their personal data. The PDPO mandates private sector organisations and NGOs to ensure data accuracy, implement robust protection measures, and appoint Data Protection Officers responsible for compliance. A one-year grace period has been provided for organisations to align their practices with the new law. DFCE 2025 will provide a timely platform for organisations to better understand how to prepare for implementation.

Complementing this development, AITI, in collaboration with the AI Governance and Ethics Working Group, have also launched the “Guide on AI Governance and Ethics for Brunei Darussalam,” which offers a foundational framework for ensuring the responsible, transparent, and ethical development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. As AI increasingly drives decision-making in both the public and private sectors, this guide provides much-needed clarity on best practices for ensuring accountability and public trust.

DFCE 2025 will bring together policymakers, regulators, business leaders, technologists, and civil society voices. Through high-level panels, deep-dive presentations, and expert-led discussions, the DFCE 2025 will offer a forum not just to observe the future, but to design it.
