Introduction of IoT-NSP Licence for Sustainable IoT Growth and Innovation

To foster further growth and innovation in the digital space, the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) will be introducing the Internet of Things Network and Service Provider for the Telecommunications Industry (IoT-NSP) Licence commencing 1 September 2024.

The IoT-NSP Licence must be obtained for the ownership, deployment, operation and provision of IoT network and services. The licence is intended to promote the responsible and sustainable development of IoT technologies in Brunei Darussalam.

The global IoT landscape has seen significant growth in recent years, driving industry transformation and enhancing everyday consumer experiences, all while contributing to the global GDP. In this context, the introduction of the IoT-NSP Licence seeks to empower the involvement of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the growth of the IoT ecosystem and enable the deployment of new IoT applications across all business sectors in Brunei Darussalam.

An Information Day for interested parties will be conducted to share more details on the new IoT-NSP Licence on a later date which will be announced through AITI’s social media channels.

Bagi menggalakkan lagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan inovasi dalam ruang digital, Pihak Berkuasa Industri Teknologi Info-komunikasi Negara Brunei Darussalam (AITI) akan memperkenalkan Lesen Internet of Things Network and Service Provider for the Telecommunications Industry (IoT-NSP) bermula pada 1 September 2024. 

Lesen IoT-NSP ini perlu diperolehi bagi sebarang pemilikan, penggunaan, pengendalian dan penyediaan rangkaian dan perkhidmatan IoT. Lesen ini diperkenalkan dengan hasrat untuk mempromosikan pembangunan teknologi IoT yang bertanggungjawab dan mampan di Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Landskap IoT global telahpun menyaksikan kemajuan yang signifikan sejak beberapa tahun kebelakangan, termasuk dalam memacu transformasi industri dan meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna dalam kehidupan seharian, sambil menyumbang kepada peningkatan Keluaran Dalam Negeri Kasar (KDNK) atau Gross Domestic Product (GDP) global. Pengenalan Lesen IoT-NSP  ini bertujuan untuk memperkasa penglibatan Pengusaha-pengusaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Sederhana (PMKS) dalam pertumbuhan ekosistem IoT dan membolehkan penggunaan aplikasi IoT yang baharu di semua sektor perniagaan di Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Sesi perkongsian maklumat mengenai Lesen IoT-NSP akan diadakan pada suatu tarikh yang akan diumumkan kemudian melalui laman media sosial rasmi AITI.
